CONTINENTAL ECOLOGY: It studies the sweet and terrestrial organisms and their interactions with each other (competition, predation, symbiosis etc.) and with the surrounding environment.

MARINE ECOLOGY: It studies marine organisms and their interactions with each other (competition, predation, symbiosis, etc.) and with abiotic factors such as temperature, pH, salinity and others.

SYSTEMATICS AND BIOGEOGRAPHY: Associates the variability of characteristics (morphological, physiological, molecular and geographic distribution) mapped in phylogenetic trees, including phylogenomics, aiming to establish the macroevolutionary processes responsible for such patterns. It studies evolutionary patterns in the molecular and morphological aspects. It also describes and correlates biodiversity distribution patterns, both within terminal taxa and between biogeographic regions.
